I've written 4 books on cyber security and 20+ years in Cyber Security with 15 of those years as a Cyber Security Entrepreneur.
Most of that time was spent building cyber fortresses for fortune 500s. I lost interest in Technology after seeing time and time again that the human was the real cause of security breaches. I saw that now matter how much tech was deployed, the human still needed to do their job and therefore was still the primary risk.
In my TED Talk I state that Cyber Security isn't a Computer Science problem, it's a Behavioral Science one.
In addition to launching multiple cyber security companies that are focused on the Behavioral Science side of Cyber Security, I am the Founder of the PsySec (Psychological Safety) pillar of Security.
I do speaking, workshops, and retreats with all levels of executives and managers to teach the basic tenets of PsySec and how they can build safer, more resilient companies through improving emotional intelligence, servant leadership, and conflict resolution.
After 19 companies, 14 failures, 1 exit, and 5 companies I am acting Chair of the Board, I've seen that business can be broken into 4 distinct phases.
As businesses grow and move from phase to phase, they often have problems with creating new strategies and ideation of existing data mixed with new opportunities. That is where a fresh set of eyes and new perspective can help quickly move a company forward.
As Entrepreneur in Residence for your company, I help the executive management team and/or key employees find new business models, new ways to use old assets, and help them see different ways they can leverage their people, processes, and systems.
My Business almost destroyed my marriage.
I was the successful CEO of a Multi-Million Dollar Cyber Security company for 13 years.
After almost losing it all, I discovered that business success without also success in the family was a hollow thing. My wife and I founded "Whole Life Entrepreneurship" with the vision of creating a movement that supports Entrepreneurs and their families.
Through numerous conversations with other entrepreneurial families, we discovered that Business Running Families often feel Alone, Stressed, and Scared (A.S.S.) and that this leads to major issues in their relationships, their businesses, and their lives.
My Wife, Kerry, developed the Three C's (Chill, Communicate, and Community) to help address the epidemic that is going through our business communities and harming our friends.
Our mission is to provide tools, support, and community to Entrepreneurial Families that enrich their lives, businesses, and relationships.
